Saturday at the flowermarket

It’s a beautiful saturday and we thought we’d do something normal Hong Kongians do. So we went to the flowermaket. Fun with the locals.

Flowers need good light.

Hallo Kitty bouquet anyone?

Hanging garden.

Bouquets for every occation.

They put a lot of wierd stuff in their gardens in Hong Kong.

The flowermarket, or flowerstreet, is not that long – maybe 400 meters or so. But it is jam packed with shops selling all kind of flowers and plants. In addition to all flowers we also saw a lot of herbs and a lot of bonsai plants. I would guess the average hongkongian dont have that much room and therefor grows samll and usefull stuff like herbs. I was a nice streach of street that ofcourse smelled exceptionally.

A coffe pitstop at hayfevere, a flowershop and coffehouse which specialises in super fancy coffe. The icecoffe here was extremely good.
The shop/café looks nice too.

This place, the Hayfever was a hipster kinda place. Firs, in the front was a regular shop selling all kinds os plants, and then in the back and second floor there was an cafe that served cakes and snacks. You could tell it was something special just by looking at the girl working on a cup of coffee for a customer (i think it is called a “cold drip”?)

They said you could end up waiting as much as 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, but it was all probably worth it.

We ended up going up and then down again this street, a real nice walk with lots new to see all the time.

Look at this badboy! It east flies and small bugs. Looks intimidating right? With some nice fertilizing and extra water it is Little Shop Of Horrors all over… feeeeed meeee.
