Teatasting at Mingcha, Quarry Bay

A visit to a proper teahouse seemed like a good idea, so we went to the best rated one i Hong Kong and it was amazing. We can’t praise Mingcha Teahouse enough. It was an experience we will never forget. We learned a lot we didn’t know and we tasted some amazing tea. It is also a tea shop and they have teacups and pots that look like little masterpieces. I think I wanted to buy everything in the shop, but that wouldn’t fly. Literally.

We met a superfriendly staff that knew very much about tea. We felt very welcome and learned a lot.
Teasniffing is an important part of teatasting, Trond is not a Tea Master  yet – but aspire to be one in the future.
Tea tast better in small beautiful cups.

It is not a very big shop this, but it packs a lots of both ceramics and tea products, along with an ambiance and feel that is rare. Most of this comes down to the people working here and the mood they set, along with the smell of tea that fills the room this is a “must do” in Hong Kong.

To get there was fairly easy, you have to get on the metro (blue line) towards Chai Wan and get of at Tai Koo station. From there it is a very short walk.

Maren outside of the shop on the 12th floor, you need to ring the bell to get in.

Picture above and below shows the building. You need to walk into the building under the blue sign, and then keep walking til you see the sign with all the different shops. The elevators are on the left, and you need to chose one of the elevators on the left side in the “elevator room”

Do you see the white car on the right side in picture below? Enter the street there and you are very close. From the metro choose exit A1 ( not a2 as google maps tell you)

As Maren writes to begin with in this text, this was a really nice place. Highly recomended.
