The main reason for being here, atleast for me – is the Fortniet seminar. As you all know Fortinet is a Firewall (not just, its much much more), and is pretty much what I do for a living these day. Before it was Checkpoint firewalls.. but ..no more.. Its not to bad, my brainwash is closing completion with this seminar, and the fond Checkpoint memories are slowly fading away…….there… gone. 🙂
The seminar last for 3 ish days, the fourth day – thursday, has no specific program. It’s not very big, lets say compared to Cisco”s Networkers that is very big – with tons of sessions and a vast techexpo arean. But it is still big enough that you get to meet lots of interesting people for exchanging of ideas and experiences.
I did sign up for different stuff, especially av IoT / OT session that turned of to be very nice. They had a professor or doctor (smart guy) comming in from Germany to talk about how they secure the IT bit of the new powergrid solution Germany is putting up. (windmills and sensors ..and so on).
Other that that decided to put myself trough 1,5 hours of Azure implementation of Fortigates. It was good, it was fine.. but Azure still is a bit argh!.
Anyways, its comming to an end now, and there will be a big party tonight with some live music and probably lots of free beer and wine. Im hoping for some metall but Im guessing it will be pop oriented – lets see!

All in all a very nice seminar, but as allways there is a bit of sales/marketing stuff and never enough tech stuff. I will post some more pictures of the different booths and exebitions later on – the techExpo area was pretty cool. I think IT is here to stay 🙂
