When there is a chance to visit Grand Canyon, you have to take it. I been hearing everywhere how amazing it is and now was my chance to see for myself. We wanted to travel in style, so we rented a convertible. This one was a BMW 430i, i think 250 hp and with lots of buttons and big displays. Fun car to drive, to bad all the national parks have such a low speedlimit..45 at tops, lots of 35 and 25 to.
On our way we made a quick stop at Hoover Dam.It is was beautiful in its man againts nature sort of way. And, of course a huge contrast too what we were going to see (Grand Canyon). One can’t drive oneself to the west side of Grand Canyon, there are shuttelbuses that you can hop on and off. They go pretty much all the time. The visit is a bit expensive (72 dollar pr. person). Our first stop was the skywalk at 1450 meters. You are not allowed to take pictures yourself at the skywalk, but you can pay someone to do it. The skywalk had a glassfloor which was a bit scary to walk on at first. We took the bus a bit further and hopped off at a point were there used to be a old Guave minking site. This place had an amazing view and even I, who is not very outdorsy could undrestand the call of the wild.I didn’t want to leave this beautiful place. The old mining construction. There were not to many visitors, and we could enjoy the peace of Grand Canyon ( it is very quit) as well as the beauty. We loved our car ❤
