More pagoda-ing at Bagan

We took a 2 hour trip today to, with tuk tuk – my Buddha its hot !! But! – still not a lot of tourist – low season rocks when it comes to sightseeing.

A lot of tem has construction going on – fixing and tuning. Tourism is really picking up here, so they want them to look their best. Guides seems very good at telling what is new and whars original – that’s nice because a few of these are pretty much new.

The Irrawaddy river

The river – the ‘road to Mandalay’, unfortunately not any passengers boats move along the river now.. not enough water, or tourists.

There is a massive Indiana Jones feel over this whole area – close to beating Nepal !

You could probably walk the dusty roads here for months, and still discover something new.

Tallest one in Bagan

The original bricks, 3 times size of ‘modern’

Its still blazing hot, so we just got back to the hotel for a couple of Myanmar beers and a swim in the pool. Tonight I am going for Italian pizza !! I’m looking very much forward to it ! 🙂 My belly is not in its happy place, has not been there for 3-4 days. Some pizza will set it right 🙂

I also managed to get a good deal on a car to Mandalay, it was 150.000mmk but so far i got it down to 110.. great stuff 🙂 .. planes are hard to come by in low season it seems, but a 3-4 hour car drive will probably be an adventure anyways.
