Bruges – Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan

De Halve Maan (im pretty sure that means the half moon)

Cold..soon to rain..inside-beer

This was the first Brewery we had decided to visit, is just on the corner of the old town close to the train station.

There has been beer brewing going on here for 500 years (!!) – the current Brewery has only been in operation in just over 150 years…. Currently on the 5.th generation of the same family.

The bottelibg of the beers is on another location – so instead of transporting all the beer by truck over the cobblestones in the old city.. narrow streets and hairpin turns.. they dug down a 3300 meter pipe going to the botteling site. Probably an easy nobrainer investment when you have 1-200 year plans.

We did not do the tour – but we tasted all their beers that was on tap (4). And had a pretty excellent brunch to go with them.

We had the henrick, zot, blanche and one more we did not get the name of 🙂 .. great beer – excellent food.

Great resturant
Gift shop!!
