Sardinia trip

We are headed to Sardinia, or – we where headed on 16th July, we have now arrived. 🙂

Due to the SAS strike, we had a bit of a hassel to get tickets sorted, but we ended up booking ticket with Swiss and Edelweis Air. So we did oslo, zurich, corsika and then ferry to st teresa at sardinia.

Taxi to Costa Paradiso, keys to house – and straight in the pool. 36c in the shade.

A really beautifull place, big pool .. close to the ocean.. and lots of wild boars roaming the streets.

Tomorrow we need to do some exploring, tonight its pool and beer.

MUŻA – The Malta National Community Art Museum

Right…

MUZA is situated by the entrance to the old town of Valetta, entrance is 5eur – well worth the money, this place was huge.

Lots and lots of paintings

The muesum stretched over 3 floors, with lots of different rooms and exchibits, you could easily get lost.

Most of the artwork is religious and related to the grandmasters of st john. But also lots pf old furniture and tools n stuff.. dating back 4-500 years.

Ġgantija, Gozo

After googeling around a bit we foud the Ġgantija temple on Gozo, supposed to be the / or the second oldest man made building in the world (there is some old stuff in turkey)

We opted out on the hop-on-hop-off hell that is the reb busses/ferries, and did the regular ferry from Cirkewwa to Mggarr on the island of Gozo. Nice calm n easy crossing, on a big car ferry.

Besides the temple itself, there is a small muesum also. Showing old pottery, jewøery amd tools – dating vack 5600 years.. so thats older than the pyramids, way older.

Of course, it has had its wear over the years – but again, 5600 years old..thats a bit, older than the stonehenge.. really cool.

The whole area was really nice laid out, and for us beeing here in start of low season it was not crowded at all. Really cool site – of course it also had a giftshop at the end.. fridge magnets aquired!

5600 teater old statue. She looks very happy, at least the one with the head.

Blue lagune Malta

Hell on earth

A small island NOTHING like the pictures say. Totaly overcrowded with eorupean trash, and generel rubbish.

We did not go all over the island – but the lagoon itswlf is a trashpit of kebab stench, cheap rum drinks and a heavy techo beat.

The facilities are non excisting, the toilets are some kind of old testament punishment.

Bathing is limited at best… views are nice :).. but my god so many people on so little space.

Boatride out was nice, hoping to get on the mext one out 🙂

St. John’s Co-Cathedral, Vallett

The old city of Valetta was a real nice place, loaded wifth cafes and resturants. And of course lots of churches

Built in th 1570’s loaded with references to the crusades.

The picture above is for remembering one of the grandmasters – and all the battles he was in. Note that the one angel is stepping on a skull – and the other obe a turban.. so, yeah 🙂

Quite an impressive view, gold everywhere and intricate decorations all over the place

Underneath the altar is the toomb of several grandmasters.. quite cool
