St. John’s Co-Cathedral, Vallett

The old city of Valetta was a real nice place, loaded wifth cafes and resturants. And of course lots of churches

Built in th 1570’s loaded with references to the crusades.

The picture above is for remembering one of the grandmasters – and all the battles he was in. Note that the one angel is stepping on a skull – and the other obe a turban.. so, yeah 🙂

Quite an impressive view, gold everywhere and intricate decorations all over the place

Underneath the altar is the toomb of several grandmasters.. quite cool

Malta !

God damnit – finaly after years and years and years of corona covid lockdowns and facemask hell, vaccinations and argh!

We where finaly able to do our yearly wedding-day-week trip again, this time to Malta. Hoping for sun and swiming, beer and tuna.

It had not been used for so long that it had gone crispy
‘Craft beer’ in Frankfurt

Arrived in Malta sunday, rain , and got hit with rain in the morning hours of monday to – but the sun showed up midday 👍👍

Hotel Corinthia, st george bay
Pretty nice indoor pool to

The hotel is loaded with ‘slippery when wet’ signs, it is slippery – I took a dive down some stairs today, and are only just able to walk. 🙂

Had a walk down to Sliema today, was hoping to get to The Crafty Cat brew pub, but it had not opened – so we got some beers at The Brew

Not a super impressing coffe stout – but nice enough

We also visited the Beer Garden, pretty good selection

Hoping to get my back working in a few days and see some more of Malta by feet – right now it feels like we need to spend some money on taxies.

Found a nice souvenier shop in Silema.

The access to Bolt scooters here is massive – but with the narrow streets and the massive traffic, I cant se how anyone dares to ride them.

Wat Arun, Bangkok

Temple of dawn is one of the must-see in Bangkok. I was pretty sure that it was a bit hyped, having seen a lot of temples lately… but I was wrong.

Getting a Grab to bring us there early morning (08:00), you cant help seeing all the “our king is great” posters and statues..banners.. they really love their king here. Continue reading “Wat Arun, Bangkok”

Mandalay

Mandalay has a lot to offer the tourist flow. Pagodas, a really cool Royal Palace and very fun shopping experience.
We heard that Mandalay Hill is well worth a visit, although we sadly didn’t make it there. The heat was getting the better of us midday, (over 40 c) and we had a really great rooftop pool.
We have seen a lot of Pagodas now, and we agreed Continue reading “Mandalay”
